Introduction

Qualification type- BTEC National
Qualification tittle- Pearson BTEC level 3 certificate in creative media production


LO:
1) To be able to extract information from written sources.
2) To be able to create a report in a media production, context.
3)To be able to pitch a media production proposal using appropriate technology


The difference between skimming and scanning is that skimming is looking over a piece of text in speed while taking in particular words. Scanning is looking over the text and reading specific parts when we notice a key word.


Examples of Scanning-
1) Read the tittle.
2) Look at the introduction in the first paragraph.
3) Read headings and sub-headings.
4) Notice pictures, graphs and charts.
5) Notice words and phrases.
6) Read last paragraph.


 Examples of Scimming-
1) Look for something in particular.
2) Do not read every word.
3) Move your eyes quickly through the lines.

Task- look for statistics.
