written report improved

I think that psychological abuse is the worst type of abuse because it not only affects you as person but it will leave you as nothing more than a shell of a person. I believe that the first step to help stop psychological abuse is to make people more aware of it in the public eye. This is effective because if more people are aware of it then the more awareness which can be raised which means that people know not to do it. This links to when I created my mission statement as I need to raise awareness for it to stop.

My mission statement is to make the nation more aware of psychological abuse. For example, I can show this in my film by exploring the lives of different women and how they deal with psychological abuse. The technique I looked at when I was creating my mission statement was secondary research as I had to research weather or not my film was realistic how much of an impact I could make. This is effective because I am now able to understand what I need to aim for in order to make an impact. This links to who the conflict involves in my short film because I need it to be as realistic as possible.

The main conflict in my short film is the women who are abused by their partners and how the side affects of emotional abuse are represented. An example of the conflict in my short film is when the the main antagonist is abusing the main character. This is effective because it is an representation of emotional abuse and this can have an effect on my audience because they look like the stereotypical couple. This links to my target audience profile  because I will need to understand how to reflect this conflict in the best possible way by choosing what category I will like to represent in my film.

The target audience of my short film will range from 15-37 year-olds and I will like to target the B category as I feel this is the social class where the most emotional abuse happens. An example of the perfect person I would like to represent is a office worker in their mid-twenties they can report it to other people. The technique I was looking at when I was choosing my target audience was secondary research as I used the internet to see what social group the emotional abuse most happens in. This is effective because if I target the social group in which it happens in then the more awareness I would raise as they are the most affected. This paragraph links to the main occupation of my target audience  as I need to raise the most awareness in the the target group it is most affected.

The main occupation that my audience will be is a business women because this the main type of occupation that it happens too. The main factors they would have to consider is that the short film is solely set around women and their male abusive partners. The film will be advertised on radio so, therefore it will be advertised when people drive to work. This is effective because they have word of mouth which can seriously advertise the short film. This links to the cost of the film

The cost of the film is a reasonable price to make it available for everyone. I can create an online survey for people to complete which will produce research that can help me improve my short film. There might be some objections to the film because it might have some disturbing scenes and strong language. My secondary audience are teenage girls aged between 12-18. this can be a problem because they might struggle to understand the films powerful message. This links to the films subject.

My films subject is emotional abuse on women and how the effects are worse than physical abuse. The people it mostly effects is women in their mid-twenties to their late-thirties who are in a relationship with a male partner. The environment I want my short film to show is an average English suburban household that doesn't look out of the ordinary. The background information that my audience will need is the basic understanding that abuse in general is a serious issue and needs to be dealt with. This links to the main character of my short film.

Story Board
In this frame we see the antagonist, Jess who is sitting in-front of a frame getting interviewed. I decided to pick this shot for my short film because it will give it a sense of realism and this will lead to me being able to raise more awareness as my target audience will think it is real.

In this frame we are seeing a flashback of the protagonist to when she was being emotionally abused. I choose to add this in as I can portray Jess's story as a real one and this will have an better affect on my audience which will lead to more awareness being raised.

In this frame we can see Jess walking into her home and immediately getting harassed by the short films protagonist, Mike. I choose this shot because I would like to show quickly emotional abuse can happen. For example, in this scene Jess has just walked through the door and already is getting abused.

In this frame we can see Jess crying in the kitchen as she is being emotionally abused. I choose to add this because it shows how damaging emotional abuse can be and how it can hurt you that is why Jess is crying.

In this frame we see Jess trying to commit sucide by taking loads of tablets. I decided to add this frame because it will make the audience feel bad because this is how devastating this form of abuse can be.

In this frame it is a black screen with the words Jess survived but this abuse still continues. I chose this frame because I want my audience to capture the message that it may not be hurt physically but it can still lead to you dying.

In this short film there is a girl named Jess who is the girlfriend of Mike who emotionally abuses Jess. Jess fits in the scheme of things because she is being emotionally abused and she is the main character. Jess main role is to act vulnerable as she is being emotionally abused. One other important factor that makes her interesting is the fact that she is a stereotypical working women. This is effective because you would not associate a middle class women being the prime target. This character is trying to prove that emotional abuse effects everyone not just working class women which is what most people think. This links to the main antagonist, who is Mike.

Mike fits in the scheme of things because he is the abuser and emotionally abuse the main character. Mike  main role is to be the abuser. what make him interesting is that in public he shows no sign that he emotionally abuses his girlfriend, which is important because it shows perfectly how hard it is to spot an emotional abuser. The character is trying to prove that what he is doing has to be done because he thinks his girlfriend is worthless. This links to the audience bias.

The main bias my audience may have is that they associate emotional abuse mostly with the lower class but my short film contradicts this by the fact that the story is set around a middle class couple. This will cause some controversy because it will go against the stereotype that so many people believe. The main fact my audience need to understand is that not all stories revolve around the lower class. To prove this I will show statistics that prove not all stories of emotional abuse revolve around the lower class. This links to what the character goal is.

Jess wants mike to stop emotionally abusing her where as Mike wants Jess to be stronger as he thinks she is weak. Mike stands for the right that men should be more powerful than women but Jess stands for the right that men and women should remain equal. this is effective because it shows That mike is in the wrong. We will see the forces meet by an argument that is created. This links to the style of the film.

The main style the film is going for is a dark emotional film. For example there will be low key lighting to hide the face of the abuser as this will leave a mystery for the audience. This is effective because it will affect the audience more if the identity of the abuser is unknown, the audience can imagine that the abuser could be anyone. This links to some logistical issues I will have.

In conclusion, their some issues I would need to face, these are The actors transport, The product placement and The location fees. These issues can be easily resolved I can hire a coach for the cast to assure that they are at the location on time and their altogether at the same time. The product placement can be solved by contacting a company to ask if it suitable to have their product in my short film. I would need to save some extra money for the location fees, this will solve the problem.
